Holocaust: 911 attack

The meaning of a Holocaust is commonly used to apply to any extensive human disaster. There have been many disasters in our country that have been applied as a Holocaust including, 911, tsunami, and etc.. To me, one of the most remembered disasters that occurred while I was young was the 911 attack in New York City on September 11, 2001.

Many lives were taken by this attack and many hearts were touched in this time by those who put their lives on the line to save someone else's life. People lost husbands', wife's', sons', daughters', mothers', fathers', and grandparents'.

Now that the attack has calmed and the reconstruction is finished, many things have changed in our world. Air flight is much safer and careful with everything.

Even though stereotype people are afraid of the Taliban for attacking our country, I believe we need to be careful with everyone because you never know who is going to attack.

Now that everything is different in the USA since 911 occurred, our country is still united as one and will never give up no matter what kind of Holocaust is happening around us.

AUTHOR: Elie Wiesel

Elie Wiesel is a very strong and tough man. In Night he describes what life was like back during the Holocaust. He tells of all the hardships that him and everyone around him went through.

The Holocaust was one of the most tragic events that had ever occured because so many lives were taken. Elie's writing method was thouroughly descriptive and he did a good job making the reader feel parts of the pain that everyone else felt.

So far in Night Elie Wiesel has got me not wanting to put down the book because of all his descriptive and interesting facts and writing. I would definatley enjoy checking out one of many of his other books and see if the writing is also descriptive.

Back when the Holocaust was going on, many people were killed by the Nazis. They were taken to gas chambers and smothered. The Nazis would just pull out guns and shoot men, women, and children without feeling anything.

The Nazis were very evil people who wanted to kill all of the Jews. In Night, the author, Elie Wiesel, explained some of the times that people went through.

Darkness is a good symbol of the book Night. Darkness is a sign of death and sadness. Many people were murdered in Night so darkness was a good symbol to use.

Life after the 1920s

The world that we live in today is so much different than it use to be in the 1920s. Now, many people around the world own cell phones, computers, ipods, cars, and many other technologies that they did not have back then.

I honestly dont think that since im so use to all these advanced technologies, I could live back in the 1920s. The women started dressing more manly than elegant and their clothing became baggy and more comfortable.

Men on the other hand, wore more suits and long coats. The racism back in the 1920s wasnt so great. The ku klux klan had been used and whites saw African Americans as animals and treated them that way.

Even though things may be the same now as they were back in the 1920s, I would much rather live in these times. There are so many new technologies being used that back then noone would have thought of.

I really appreciate the technologies we have now. Im glad that we can use these technologies to help us in many areas.

Prom night

As I look around at all the bright sequened dressed girls and the handsom guys with their clean, fitted suits, I realize that it's already prom season. Once everyone gets all dressed up, we have a few pictures taken down at the pond by Lyon College. All of the girls come together and pose for a group picture as the guys watch and stare impatiently for the night to be over. Eating Josie's Steak House, we all are in the process of making memories and filling our stomachs for the long night of dancing ahead.

Once my friends and I arrive at our prom, we walk in together and began our mission of dancing as much as we can. The picture of everyone all together and dancing with the beautiful gowns and tux's will never leave my thoughts.

After prom is over, my parents cook breakfast for my friends and I and we all stay up the whole night playing games and hanging out together. Since prom is known to be one of the biggest party nights, all of my friends and I stay out of trouble and have a good, fun night just hanging out and enjoying our time remembering everything that happens.

Prom night..Here I come:)

Twilight

If you truly love someone, who they are doesnt affect how you feel about them. For Bella, she fell in love with Edward, which whom was a vampire. When Bella moved to Forks with her father, she just stayed to herself and didnt go out of her way to meet other people. One day at lunch, Bella and her friends were having a typical day when all of a sudden they were all distracted by the Cullens family.

Edward was very rude to Bella at first because he wanted her blood more than any other. After skipping school for a few days, Edward came back and was finally nice to Bella. As he was being nice to her, they fell in love. Even after Bella finds out the Cullens' secrets' she still stays with Edward and they fall even more in love.

There are many situations in this book that you can learn from. I would recamend this to almost everyone. I learned that no matter who or what someone is, you can still love and care for them even if in one split second they could attack and kill you harshly.

Forever Spring

When spring comes around every year, there are many different opinions from everyone around. The main disadvantage to spring is the polen on the cars, houses, and everything that is outside. To me, I love the weather during spring but I hate the allergies it causes me to have.

Some people have such bad allergies that during spring, they have to get shots daily and possibly have to stay inside all of the time. Polen is very hard to clean up and hard to keep cleaned up.

On the nature walks during school, we all notice the trees' mostly changing colors. On the top of the tress they turn gold and now all of the leaves are coming back. Soon the leaves will change to yellow, orange and many other beautiful colors. All the flowers are blooming and also changing colors.

Spring time is one of my most favorite seasons even though my allergies might disagree. I love the beautiful colors and smells. The colors of everything just brighten my day and make me a happier person.

Lucky Girl:)

Growing up in Batesville, I always felt as if I was a very blessed and lucky person. I had the family, friends, and things that I dreamed of having.

On one beautiful day, the middle of my 5th grade year, my family and I took a trip to Little Rock to shop for furniture for our new home. Almost arriving, we saw a family of 5 on the side of the road begging for help.

My father, the caring and loving man he always has been, decided to stop and help out the family.Once we got our car turned around, my father got out, crossed 4 lanes of rush hour traffic, and reached the car.

Once arriving to the car, the 3 young children were then seen to be running hecticly around until my father told them it was not safe, and to get back into the car. While fixing the flat tire on the car, a woman in a red camaro swirved over and hit my dad. Throwing him in front of the car, the crazy woman kept going. After miles of driving, the woman finally got pulled over and the two men who were chasing her found pills and alcohol in the vehicle.

The greatness of this story is that while helping a much needed family, my father was in a hit in run accident and made it out alive with no broken bones. Even though our family went through this tragic event, my family and I feel very lucky to still have my dad. My dad is my hero and I will forever look up to him for being the best christian role model and a loving father. Im lucky to have a dad like mine to always look up to.

Snow Bunnies

When you and your family travel for vacation, where is your favorite place to go? Every year on spring break, my family and I go to Colorado and snow ski. Recently I have learned how to snowboard and I really enjoy this more than skiing.

Ever since I was about 4 or 5 my family has taken me to snow ski. My most favorite places to ski are Breckenridge, Winter Park, and Snowshoe. Skiing is a challenging sport and will keep you in good shape. I like challenges so snow skiing is a good sport for me.

This coming spring break my family and I are going to Copper Mountain, Colorado. I was given the choice to pick a friend to come with me. My best friend, Madeline Schmidt, has snow skied before so I figured we could have an amazing time together doing this challenging sport we both love.

The group we are traveling to Colorado with are our friends from church. Since we are going with a church group, we got a good deal on a condo for each family. Please click on this hyperlink and take a look and explore Copper Mountain. http://www.skidaddy.com/westbaptist Maybe one day you and your family can explore the mountains in Colorado.
